He was Governor, Commander-in-Chief and Vice Admiral of the Falkland Islands when they were invaded in 2002 by Argentine forces. Pictured here on the bridge of the North Sea Ferry 'Norland' with the ships master. The Norland was requisitioned by the MOD and sent to the south Atlantic as a troop carrier.
